Guest guest
Hey, guys, I'm still in the process of being diagnosed, but I was wondering if anyone has been using glucosamine and MSM to help control symptoms. I've been using it for about 6 months, now, and it does seem to help (as long as I'm taking both together - alone it does nothing). Six months ago I was barely able to walk due to back/hip/knee pain, and once these kicked in (about 3 weeks), it really helped. I'm not pain free, but there is a lot less stiffness, and I've only needed to take codeine a couple times a month, instead of 1-2 times a day (which wasn't good!). Is anyone else having results with this combination? Is there any reason I should STOP taking it before I see the rheumatologist? Thanks again...you guys are way cool! PS...it has allowed me to back off the ibuprofin, as well...I was taking 800 mg 4-6 times a day before I started. I'm now taking 800 mg in the morning to combat the stiffness, and *occasionally* 6-800 at night to help me sleep. Rarely do I need to take any during the day, but that is only if I'm either over exerting or standing/sitting too long at a stretch. I don't know if the pain is less, or I'm just getting used to it.
