Guest guest
I don't have any current patients who need translation services (I live in a very non-diverse area unfortunately), but if I ever have the need for a translator, I was wondering if anyone has used Google Translate for on-the-fly translation. Seems possible to open it in two browser windows with english to spanish (for example) in one window and spanish to english in the other.. then switch back an forth to type in your conversation. Assuming the patient can read and write/type. No guarantee of accuracy, but at least it could be checked at a later date by cutting and pasting- compared to a human translator who alters context or meaning inadvertently. This is what I get when I ask: When was your last bowel movement? Does it hurt to move your bowels? How old are you?¿Cuándo fue su última evacuación intestinal? ¿Le duele al mover los intestinos? ¿Qué edad tienes?Seems reasonable?Carla GIbson
