Guest guest
Hi Diane, and welcome back, and I am sorry that u had to have surgery and go thru all that pain, but glad you made it back and are typing back to us now. I hope you will continue to get better, and I will be continuing my prayers for you. Take care, and get well soon. I think I lived on pain killers for a week straight. I then ended up with an infections around my stitches and a kidney infection. They both are now cleared up. I had the stitches removed today and the Dr. gave me a good checkup. I go back the end of March for another check up. If that is also good, then it's only once a year. Hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected. It may take me awhile to get caught up on all the e-mails while I was layed up. We got a snow storm Sunday night into Monday. Ended up with almost 6 " of snow. On the way home from the Dr. today it started snowing. I was almost home so it didn't bother me. I don't think were going to get much - maybe an inch. We are still in a cold spell. Had three days with below zero temps and the highs only in the single digits to teens. Doesn't look like it's going to warm up much in the next week. Maybe in the 20's. Guest guest
Welcome back Diane, I'm sorry I'm just now posting in response to your post here I've been not so well either. I'm so happy to read your surgery went well. I'm sure you have had that follow up again and I'll read it on up the line, if you sent one? If not, can you send an update? Sounds like you were really in some horrible pain after the surgery, I hope it was successful and serves you well I can't remember what you had done <crc> Forgive me We had ice instead of snow. 5 inches of sleet, then we were suppose to get 6-12 inches of snow this past weekend but we didn't get any. LOL They totally were off on that forecast. I think it's so funny when they mess up like that. The weekend we got the sleet, the forecast was for 1/4 to 1 " of ice, lol just too funny. And we STILL have that ice around, even on the roof tops. Just comical I tell ya! lol This cold sure makes a body ache at best. Mine had been doing pretty good with the pain until I started sleeping and then all hell broke loose. Now, I'm in horrible pain. Everything aches and other spots are excruciating, the fronts of my thighs even hurt really bad and they don't always hurt, usually its the back and sides of my thighs. My hangs even hurt today! Ok, I'll stop whining! I hope you are doing well with your recovery! Hugs, Tommie I'm Back !!! Hi everyone I'm back and just thought I would give everybody an update. Guest guest
Hi Tommie Sorry to hear that you haven't been doing so well. I had surgery to remove a cancerous lump/tumor on my left temple. My next check up isn't until the end of March. I'm going to keep a positive outlook that all will go well with that visit. Guest guest
Hi Diane, Thank you for refreshing my memory. OMGosh I remember now. God bless you. I'm so happy things went well. Praise the Lord! I hate my lack of memory, now I get to be elated about this late! lol Oh well at least I know now. My lack of memory makes me think that others might feel I don't really care enough to remember That is not the case at all, please forgive me. My memory just seems to keep getting worse and worse I hate it. Will you undergo any chemo or radiation before March? I assume they got it all? God is in control here Diane, you'll be healed I believe that with all my heart! Again, thank you for the refresher! Love, hugs and prayers, Tommie Re: I'm Back !!! I don't know how a lot of you are able to sit at a desk to be on-line at all, it's painful for me. I knowing this with a little help had my desk and computer moved into my Den. I have loved it this way. I can sit in my recliner and get on-line with the keyboard in my lap and its loads more comfortable for me. I can sit here and look to my right to see the monitor or straight ahead to see the TV. I love it being set up this way so I can basically lay back and relax and at the same time keep up with friends on-line. I don't know if you can set you desk and computer up this way or not, but its helped me more than you'd know. I just thought that in your situation and many others in the group this might be of help to set yourself up this way if possible. Best wishes on the healing and God Bless! Guest guest
there you are .. we were getting worried.. Im glad u r better... u really need to watch your legs and feet with neuropathy even though you feel pain you dont have normal feelings and it is easy to lose a leg... stay well ******************************************* I almost lost a leg a few years back from a staph infection. I have lymphedema in both legs, and developed a blister on my left thigh. It got very red and painful over the weekend, and I went to the clinic on Monday; went straight from there to the hospital. Was on anyibiotics for a month, in a nursung home, then had surgery. Went home a week later. The surgeon said if I had waited another day, I would have lost the leg, and maybe my life too. The infection was really bad, almost all the way to the femur. Funny thing was, that I didnt feel sick, maybe kinda like I had the flu is all. They said my temp was 104! I didnt feel that hot at all. So now, b/c of the ME, I must watch any type of abnormality on either leg. I scraped the right one a couple years ago, and it took over a month to heal properly. And no, I dont have diabetes. in WA ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Guest guest
Hi Rose Thank You. I wear compression socks to help with the circulation in my legs and therefore didn't realize that they were swollen. The night before I did notice that I had a lot of cramping in my legs. I just thought it was from all the walking I did through the airports and sitting on the plane. I had a check up at the Dr.'s and he said I'm doing better. Said I'll be on crutches for about the next 3 - 4 weeks. I reminded him that my son was getting married on Nov. 10th and that I wanted to walk down the aisle on my own and not in a wheel chair or on crutches. He laughed and said " we'll see " . He knows me pretty good and knows that I just might walk on my own and not use the crutches and/or wheelchair until the reception. Take care Hugs Diane-Minnesota > > > > > me > > about 2 hrs to type this as I can't sit with my feet down for very > > long - about 5 minutes at a time. > > > > Hugs to all > > Diane - Minnesota > > > > there you are .. we were getting worried.. Guest guest
Hi That's what the Dr.'s told me I had. Some how the cut on my leg became infected and got into my blood stream. They also told me that I was lucky. They said one of the things that helped was the fact that I was wearing my compression socks. It kept the blood flowing and not pooling down in my feet. Hugs Diane-Minnesota > I almost lost a leg a few years back from a staph infection. I have > lymphedema in both legs, and developed a blister on my left thigh.
