Guest guest
Hi...I saw my rheumy for my first post-op bone density test, as well as follow-up for the RA etc. He walked in and said, " You don't look like 'you' - you look like a whole different person! " That was pretty cute. With my bariatric surgery (BPD/DS), low blood calcium and high PTH can be serious issues. We have to religiously take calcium citrate, and high doses of Vit D. So far, my bone density and labs are great. Since it is a few years post-op when these problems begin to show, I'll have a bone density done at minimum yearly, and labs more frequently. I've got some RA in my fingers flaring a bit, so he wants me to stay on weekly Humira and mtx. Work is going well. I've completed my day schedule training, and am now moving on to evening and night training. The folks there have been just lovely. Hugs & hope...
