Wondering about ring splints

Back in the mid-90s I was prescribed ring splints. I wore them

religiously for 2or 3 years, then kept losing one or another and

finally put them away.

Did or does anyone else wear them? My rheumy doesn't even mention

them anymore, so I wondered if they have gone out of favor.
