Guest guest Posted March 11, 2005 Report Share Posted March 11, 2005 I recently had to cut my Prednisone from 10 mg. down to 5. My anti- inflamatory was also changed from Naproxen to Volteran, as if it would take up the slack from lowering the Prednisone. (I also take Methotrexate, Plaquenil, blah blah blah) Well, all I can say is OUCH! The RA has caused tendinitis in both shoulders, which is extremely painful. The Dr. said I could get Cortisone(sp?) shots in my shoulders if the Volteran isn't effective. Now for the really crazy part-----I am a person in significant pain on a daily basis, yet------ I am afraid of shots!!! Ugh. Could someone share with me your experience with Volteran and/or cortisone shots? How much Volteran can be taken in a day? How much do the shots hurt and help?
