Guest guest
Hello and welcome to all the newbies, and I hope those of you with infections are feeling better soon. Well, I’m still here. Just. I’ve just finished my second round of antibiotics and about to start a third. Plus I had my transfusion on Tuesday, but it’s having trouble battling against this infection. Probably because I am so run down. My sister and I spent half the day looking at hostels for our mother, because we just can’t let her stay where she is; they simply are not looking after her or meeting her needs. Nor are they meeting ’s needs. At this stage we don’t know if is going to move too, because we’re having major issues with the lady who is his power of attorney. So much so that my sister is ringing the public advocate’s office as we feel she is detrimental to him and his situation. Basically she’s trying to break and my mother up, and constantly tells him to divorce my mother. What we’ve recently discovered is that he had lots of money (which we didn’t know) and that he has left everything to her in his will. Now that he’s married my mother, she stands to inherit everything, and the woman who is the poa will get nothing. My b-i-l is a solicitor, and has confirmed that’s the case. So if they separate, then divorce, the poa will get all his money as previously planned. I’ve had conversations with her on just three occasions, and on two of those, she mentioned that she gets all his money. Not a good situation. is very ill, been in hospital over two weeks now and will come home with oxygen 24/7. He has no other family or friends in Australia, (he’s Irish) and no one else to look out for his rights. We have no choice but to get the public advocate involved, as much as we don’t want to. The social worker at the hospital he’s in has promised to talk to him and try and find out what’s going on. No wonder I’m rundown and sick!! All this running around. Sheesh! In between all this, my latest book was released the other day. (Maybe I told you this already?) Anyway, here’s the link if you want to take a look: http://www.writer2writer.com/outside_square.htm It’s another non-fiction book for writers. Also, I know a few of you have purchased Saving Emma in the past. I’ve just started a campaign where anyone who buys the book will get two free ebooks from me when they produce their receipts – and that includes previous purchases as well. If this affects you, send me a copy of your receipt, and I’ll email back your books. Both of these are good quality ebooks that are currently selling in online bookstores. One is about organising your home, the other is called Your Garden and is something like 90 pages long. Those who haven’t bought it, but would like to at some stage, right now is a good time because it’s publisher’s pick this month. That means that anyone who buys Saving Emma will also get to choose one other Whiskey Creek Press ebook at no charge. But only for August. (And you still get the bonus ebooks from me!) Tomorrow is my writer’s conference which goes from Friday afternoon til Sunday evening. I am very much looking forward to the break away from everyone and everything!!! If only I could veg out for the entire weekend…..
