I don't think I want to know about this one either! I have (had) enough

trouble through the menopause in not remembering certain things. A complete

brain fog. I would put something in a " safe " place and then I couldn't

remember where that was! Unfortunately I still have not recovered everything

from their safe places 8~) !

Unfortunately this study doesn't offer any steps to help diabetics. Isn't it

enough that we have to work so hard to keep everything in " control " and now

this. I, for one, want to hear something about diabetes that could make me

feel better about this disease. Yes, I know that having this is not the end

of the world and there are other more awful medical problems we could have

but sometimes I would rather not read our posts or just cover up my head

with the covers and say today isn't happening.

I feel like the last four years I have been a most miserable person between

this and the hormonal crud I went through. Can't regain those times and have

to go forward but my two teenage boys would tell you I was like a raging

lunatic at times...between not having good control and loss of hormones it

was not pleasant at home many days. My DH took it all in stride and I can

see why some marriages could break up over this stuff. Thanks to HRT and now

the insulin, life is looking a lot brighter. Still can't make up for lost

time but look forward to all that comes each and every day and I am

thankful.

Hello,

This is . I am not trying to push my company here. I of course

am a diabetic, and have had the rough and awkward skin. I developed my

company partly because of my skin's needs. I use only vegetable oils with

the practice of aromatherapy in my product lines. I now have no dermal

troubles. If you want to try some, just e-mail me, and of course I will not

charge my fellow diabetic friends a full price- I just want to help.

I found this study incredibly painful to absorb. I read it over and over ...

It concluded:

<< Regarding the dramatic increase in dementia seen in patients taking

insulin, Dr. Lovestone suspects that the action of insulin itself, insulin

signaling, the regulation of glucose metabolism, or neuronal insulin

receptor resistance may be contributing factors. The latter causes cerebral

glucose metabolism abnormalities, he points out, leading some to suggest

that AD may be a " brain-type " diabetes. >>

I have found the only solution is to move every five years. As you are

packing, you finally find all those missing items ... whereupon you wrap

them and put them back in boxes, where they once again disappear!

This study brought tears to my eyes. Sometimes I anguish over posting the

studies I come across. I try to keep us as well-informed as I can ... but

sometimes being the bearer of Bad News is a thankless task.

Dearest Kandy,

I sure know what you mean about putting things in a safe place and then

can't remember where you put them. In fact, about 15 years ago I took a

trip with a friend of mine. While I was packing for this trip I remembered

that one of my cousins had been burglarized 2 times within a very short

period of time. Of course they took all of her jewelry, which she had, in a

jewelry box. She vowed that she would never have her jewelry all in one

place again so she scattered it throughout the house. She put pieces in

shoeboxes; tossed some up in the linen closet, even put some in the dirty

clothes hamper. Well......I decided that was what I should do also. I

tossed a piece here and there and went on my trip. To this very day I can't

locate a very expensive gold bracelet! I just can't remember where in the

heck I tossed it. My friend keeps telling me that it will eventually work

it's way to the top. Maybe after I'm dead and gone one of my grandchildren

will find it and they'll probably not notice that it is really gold and very

expensive and sell it in a garage sale. Oh well, you know the old

saying... " One man's trash is another man's treasure. " LOL

I've been gone for over 2 weeks so I'm really behind on all of my emails.

Just trying to catch up on some of them and saw you note. I'm not much help

but honey, the older you get the worse it gets but then the alternative to

old age is a tombstone. I think I'll stick around for a while. I still

have places to go, things to do, and people I haven't met yet.

Love to all,

Tootie
