Dear ,

I respect your decision and hope that your insight and expertise will help

another child.I hope your next assignment will give you an opportunity to

relax and enjoy your position.

Hi ,

I don't think any less of you for moving on. I do think that the school

system has let you down as well as the child. As children grow they change, new

strategies and interventions need to be investigated and implemented. The

school system is responsible for making this happen and not leave it to you

to be innovative and try new methods. They dumped the both of you.You are now

ladened with guilt and the child isn't recieving FAPE.I do know that you are

a caring person or you would not be talking to all of us.I do not think that

you failed rather than the system failed you.I hope that the school finds the

proper supports for this child because every day is critical.I am involved in

advocacy work with the ARC and have to deal with many of these issues on a

daily basis. I have spent many sleepless nights and I certainly understand

how badly you feel.

,

Praying for your new challenges and your health. Glad you're watching

for yourself . I know, It was not easy for you to take this step as

you devoted yourself all those years . Your family needs you , too .

I as a parent with a son , DS/ASD . Decided I needed to find answers

for the sake of my health , too . I might of had problems with the

Elem . school for 4 years on them writing and calling about my sons

aggressive behaviors and I know they did their best to work with

him . Thats when I decided to hunt for answers . Boy ! Did I ! This

school year , now , in Middle School has been great . This is

definitely a school and home challenge , working together . When I

finally decided it was enough, it was when I started having alot of

back problems , and too much stress . I also did not see any progress

in my son , due to his behavior which did not allow it . I hope

Andy's parents will find answers to help his behavior, because its

going to continue . I made changes at home for my son on his diet ,

sleep pattern , teaching self-help skills , following schedules ,

plus other areas I can't think of at this moment . At school , he's

actually cooperating , getting involved and learning . Anyways you

get the picture , a change was needed . We Love our , so I'll

do anything for him . Now I see him HAPPY, as we are too . Same goes

for my other two sons . Take Care , you made the right decision , who

knows maybe there is something better awaiting for you , and this was

a sign . Everything happens for a reason .

Irma , 12, DS/ASD .
