Guest guest
All I can honestly say this has brought a small tear and a lump to my throat being asked to join this board. This may sound silly to most of you but AF has hit me hard perhaps I focus on this to much but I use to be one of these people that done so much and now do so little. I have just thought that you know very little about me so here goes. I was born at a very early age on the 27 -9-1951 in a Town called Gidea Park Essex. This will be my 50 year. My Father is a Londoner and My Mother an Australian from Geraldton WA. They met at a Hospital Dance in Freemantle WA not far from Cotteslow beach. (I am drilling down here a little on this) as we have a few Aust on this board. My mum came to England in 1950 My dad was in the Merchant Marine during the war and that's how they met. We moved to the Docklands area when I was one, that like the wrong side of town = to New Jersey or the Bronx. I went to a very poor school but managed to leave with some qualifications and obtain an Apprenticeship with the General post Office now British Telecom. Went to collage and passed the exams etc and stayed with BT for 17 years. I will bore you with all my CV but here are the important milestones in my life. I got married at the age of 36 to Tania. I met Tania will on Holiday in Bulgaria , at that time it was a communist country and a few times we had the KGB following us making sure I was not Passing of secrets from deepest London. We still laugh about this now. Tania came to the UK in June 1987. We have no children. I am 5' 6ins and weigh 78 Kilos I was into weight training and I use to have a 30 waist but I am a little bit larger than that now. I have Auburn hair with some added Grey. We moved or Emigrated to Melbourne Australia in 1990 but could not settle there and moved to Perth WA because of the lack of employment we came back after 16 months. I still work In Telecommunications and Tania in the travel Industry. So if anybody would like to hear my voice please let me know and I will love to give you a call. At a decent hour of course. We live on a nice development in Hornchurch about 23 miles from the center of London. Hobbies Before AF going to the GYM 3 times a week. And lots and lots of DIY Now not a lot really, I collect fountain pens and spend time going around sales looking for them. I am into Hi-fi and just set up a surround sound system with a DVD, that Tania tells me is too loud. Favorite Films LA confidential and the ShawShank redemption. Favorite piece of Music Rhapsody in Blue Hates. Traveling on the Central line Watching the weakest link And Drs who will not listen to you. I Play around on Ebay looking for bargains, I will do almost anything to avoid having to watch TV watching TV. I also attended a course for Bespoke tailoring but had to give this up as it made too much mess at home. We have both traveled to quite a few places, thanks to Tania's perks. Favorite destinations Florida Spain Margarita island. Best City Paris Best landmarks The statue of Liberty And the Sydney Harbour bridge. Hated destination Prague, it was 20 c when I went there and it was so cold. I also love trying to give support and putting back into the group all the kind things that were given to me when times get very dark. Thanks for all the kind emails I have received on re my trip to Bordeaux. I must be honest I am not expecting Much but Tania tells me we must do it. I have to admit she is always right.
