Guest guest
At their highest levels, these religions have more similarities than differences. Probing deeply, meditating, following any path is wise, all roads lead to Rome. Which road is chosen doesn't really matter, it's like choosing a career, choose what you are comfortable with and then go for it. Hi Annette: I totally agree and have done my share of following different paths, like so many spokes of a wheel, until I am satisfied they meet at the center of the One. On the other hand to quote one of my favorite teachers, Pema Chodron, and to use a totally different metaphor, she always says; "Pick a boat" because it's hard to get to the other side when you're always changing vessels....So I have chosen a Tibetan Buddhist vessel but the further I go with it the more I am appreciating my early Christian roots and enjoying the teachings of all the mystical paths...Meditation and living mindfully is my practice but there's no reason not to walk among the jewels and splendor of all the world's beauty and wisdom...all is spirit....One of the first things I learned in Sunday school when I was five was the answer to the question, " What is God?" The answer, "God is everything" I never forgot it.... Thanks for the lovely post: Suzanne
Guest guest
Most people have an astral entity or several hanging about in their auras. If one has one of these, is it better to exorcise using, for example the golden bowl on the altar and fires of transformation? Would it be better to offer oneself up as a buffet? Would the entity feast and leave? Why would the entity leave rather than continue to feast? Then it has to find a new home. * Hi Annette: Well, I am very much a neophyte on these matters and my approach is not very metaphysical...so yes, perhaps Mike could be of more help. My focus is on meditation and mindfulness as practice..I do try to read some of the teachings as they are handed down but am most interested in living the teachings; bringing them into my every day life and also into my work as a therapist. For the last five or six years I have been developing a mindfulness. contemplative approach to psychotherapy and bring a handful of simple concepts to my clients. For example, the idea of impermanence, combined with the practice of metta, lovingkindness, including the self, provide a world of possibilities with which to view one's life problems...I work with the development of a witness, a watcher that brings awareness that we are more than our, bodies, our thoughts, our emotions, etc. all of which helps us gain insight and respond to life with new "unknowing" or new eyes...answers and creative solutions arise in the moment... In terms of entities hanging around our auras I don't know what is best to do...I don't deal directly in such things, although someone once told me if I feel the presence of anything around me or in my home that I don't want there to simply say, " In the power of the Christ I demand that you leave, " That works. Otherwise, I'm pretty boring....nothing much to feast off of in my aura... Blessings: Suzanne...
Guest guest
What is God? " > The answer, " God is everything " I never forgot it.... > > > Suzanne > Hi Suzanne, Thanks for your lovely response. I happen to find Tibetan Buddhism the purist path. It may be because deep in the Himalayan mountains they were isolated from corruption or other thought processes. I haven't quite figured this one out. I do spend time thinking about silly things, laughing. Perhaps Mike can help us out here. For example, metaphysically, the Tibetans, imho, have it correctly and perhaps other religions do, but the ones I encountered had it incorrect for the elements, i.e., water, earth, fire, air. Have another question which I should have emailed already but perhaps I'm not the only one with the question, so, I'll put it on list. Odd question for a list, anyone with an answer is welcome to respond, or, I can go private if that is more comfortable. Thanks! Do I need to study the Tibetan book of the Dead?
