Guest guest
> Hello to all!My name is Mike Hi Mike, I took Amiodarone for about 3 months. I hated the blood test and breathing test every month. It seemed so dumb to go through all that for a medicine that wasn't helping me. But the worse side effect I had from it was constipation. It was so bad a stick of dynamite, up the old kazoo wouldn't have helped. I put up with it everyday. All the pacer doc would say is take fibre. I took 4 of those tablets, like fibrecon, everyday and it didn't help. I started to eat a bowl of shredded wheat every night and it didn't help. From all the straining and so forth I ended up going to the family doc, got refered to a gynocologist, who found I had a deformed bowel. There's a name for it, and I think only women get it, but just the same I didn't notice having it before the Amiodarone. That was enough for me. I quit taking it. The pacer doc got ticked off with me when I told him what I had done. I told him it didn't help. I had the proof that it didn't help though, because when he hooked me up to the pacer machine, and averaged out the beats, he found there was no difference. Of course he didn't admit it. I had a very wise cardio doc when this first started out, who said " IF A MEDICINE HAS SIDE EFFECTS THAT DEGRADE THE VALUE OF YOUR LIFE, THEN YOU MIGHT AS WELL PUT UP WITH THE ILLNESS. THEY CAN'T BE TRADED OFF. IT'S NOT ACCEPTABLE. " Take care, Bev
