Guest guest
You are not receiving income. Your ex-husband is merely LENDING you the money which you will have to pay back as soon as you are able? Email me privately if you need more information Been there; hang in there! I'm not an attorney so I can help you with the legal questions (maybe your SS attorney can?), but what SS expects you to do is give up. That's why 85% of claims are denied the first time. Guest guest
Dear brenda I sure can relate to what you are dealing with like I said before I tried getting SSI once and got denied am also on my own with three kids and my husband is paying for my rent. we are separated but still married I don't get child support because he pays my rent at least that was our agreement I'm also on medicaid and food stamps but it does't stop there kids need clothing school suplies etc. etc. I called to schedule an app. with a lawyer to help and I got it for next week am hoping and praying that this time I'm able to get it that would help me and my children so much. <b.durbin@...> wrote: I was denied SSDI after almost a year of waiting (rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, injuries from a car accident) and have recently hired a lawyer to deal with the appeal process. I have run out of savings and because I live on $264 child support without an income (single parent), I am no longer able to pay my rent. The last few months, my ex-husband has paid my rent with money orders because I know he can't just give me money-I have public assistance that takes care of my meds, doctors and food (Medicaid and food stamps) So this is my problem.....I received a letter yesterday that my benefits may be denied because the IRS provided the FIA with information that I made $312.00 in unreported income in 2003, which they list as my state income tax. I have no idea what that is all about and have to look into that-I have never been penalized for my income tax returns since it is money I had already reported and paid in. As I know I am due for a review of my circumstances, I wonder what is appropriate when you are waiting on disability for months or years with no income- what the heck do they expect you to do? With my lawyer appealing my case and no money, I have no choice but to accept my ex's help. So now I feel like I am committing fraud of some sort (is it income?) and I'm having major panic attacks about how this will all pan out. I have been very ill for over 6 years and I don't know how to explain my situation without getting thrown in jail or losing my medical benefits-at this point that would be catastrophic. Does anyone have experience with this situation?

Guest guest
I handled Social Security cases when I worked for the Congressmans office. I would highly recommend contacting your congressman. They will be able to help you. They will contact the SS Administration on your behalf. I dealt with them on a daily basis and they can be a pain, but they do not like the pressure from Congress.. i wish you the best of luck. --- Reggie Galindo <cindygalindo77@...> wrote: > > Dear brenda I sure can relate to what you are > dealing with like I said before I tried getting SSI > once and got denied am also on my own with three > kids and my husband is paying for my rent. we are > separated but still married I don't get child > support because he pays my rent at least that was > our agreement I'm also on medicaid and food stamps > but it does't stop there kids need clothing school > suplies etc. etc. I called to schedule an app. with > a lawyer to help and I got it for next week am > hoping and praying that this time I'm able to get it > that would help me and my children so much. > > <b.durbin@...> wrote: > > I was denied SSDI after almost a year of waiting > (rheumatoid > arthritis, fibromyalgia, injuries from a car > accident) and have > recently hired a lawyer to deal with the appeal > process.
