Guest guest
hi Jena, I'm sorry to read you have had a bad week Mine hasn't been so great either. We usually keep our tree and everything up and out until New Years day or the day after, but this year, I'm ready to get rid of the decorations. We didn't put a tree up, so it should be a breeze to put everything else away. It only took about 45 mins for Danny and to get everything out, but it always seems to take longer to put it away. lol Isn't that funny? When they started taking everything out of the boxes, had already dusted and we had put my every day figurines and nic nacs away, so that is why it only took them about 45 mins. I hope you are beginning to feel better. I was feeling a bit better today once I got the pain in my legs under control this morning. It took a lot of meds to do it and a couple of hours, but it was done . Then silly me baked a turkey today and made dressing and mashed taters. We also had a veggie. I don't make the traditional dinner so Danny had to have his stuffing and such. Now I'm exhausted. And the turkey made me really sleepy. lol is going to have to help me out by putting the left overs away. Love and hugs, Tommie Re: / Merry Chrstmas I finally got all the ornaments off mine tonight. it is ready for Darrell to take apart and put away tomorrow. I love my tree and I have very special ornaments I have collected over the years. But when Christmas is over. my tree comes down. Usually it would have already been down.... But I have had a bad week. Jena ~:~Jena~:~ My Home Page My E-mail .
Guest guest
I am not sure I am that much better or the pain meds have kinda built up. And I must admit I have had 2 more today than I was suppose to. but just couldn't handle the pain any longer. I had to have a break. I have high hopes the massager-heat thing that goes in my chair that my husband is going to get in the morning will help some. Anything is worth a try. And you can bet this ole' girl will NOT be on her hand and knees scrubbing carpet for quite awhile. Darrell told me not to do it. but those stains were driving me nuts. my carpet is only a year old and it looked 10 years. I haven't started taking down the rest of my decorations as the storage boxes are in the basement. I sure am not up to going up and down my basement steps. It is really good that your son's and husband help you so much. Darrell does if he is in the mood. Guest guest
Jena, lol Ok, now I feel so ungrateful! Danny and do help a lot, but trust me, it isn't without attitude and much added stress to me. I have to beg for everything they do and then put up with their grunts and groans. It gets old, but somehow I've managed to not let it affect me as bad as I use to. I keep explaining over and over to them, " I couldn't do this without you " , and " Doesn't it feel nice to have a neat and orderly home to live in? " Of course they are always " doing this for me " . Not because they live here and like it that way too. They love it this way, as long as they don't have to do the work. Thank God I have an Aide who comes 11 hrs per week. She does the heavy cleaning. We just have to keep up the small stuff. She does the floors, bathrooms, laundry, dusting and such. I've been taking extra pain meds too. I will run out of break through meds again this month. This time of year, my pain is increased just as everyone else who has chronic pain. I don't know why these pain management docs just don't get it. They see ALL of their patients asking for more medicine or running out and they think we are ALL over using our meds. lol Go figure! I have about 5 more doses of break through medicine and I have till the 12th to go Not gonna make it. It took a lot to get my pain under control this morning. Initially I took 190mg of extended release Morphine, 60mg of break through Morphine, a Zanaflex (muscle relaxer), and a Celebrax. Two hours later my legs were still hurting really bad. So I then took 2 10mg Lortab's. FINALLY my pain was at a tolerable level. I didn't take anymore meds until 2pm when my next dose of extended release Morphine was due and then not again on break through meds until 8pm. So I went 12 hours in between break through med doses. It was just out of control when I got up and I take 190mg of extended release Morphine at 10pm. But I was 2-1/2 hrs late in taking my morning dose of the ER Morphine. That is why I was so out of control. I slept late, which I NEVER do. I usually take my ER Morphine right on time, every 8 hrs and I keep the pain at a tolerable level. Only having to take my break through meds as prescribed, but this happens sometimes, or the weather will cause me to have to take more. I hope your pain is better tomorrow Jena. Gentle hugs and love! ~Tommie Re: Jena, Closing Christmas Up I am not sure I am that much better or the pain meds have kinda built up. Guest guest
Thank goodness, I am suppose to go see my dr. this week or I would be completely out of my meds. As you can tell by the time I am sending this email. Things are not going to good for me tonight. I have been waking up every 1-2 hours since I went to bed. I finally said heck with this and got and took a pain pill. When I am hurting I can't lay in the bed. even though we have a fairly new very nice mattress. it feels like cement when I hurt. I bought a " featherlite carpet cleaner " yesterday and last night I cleaned a maybe 4x4 spot where my tree had been. I am so disgusted. seems I can't do nothing anymore. We had planned a cook out tonight down at the lake. The kids were going to shoot fireworks. But, we have a 90% chance of rain and severe thunderstorms. Which could be one cause for my pain. I was really looking forward to it. As I don't get to see me son near are much as I would like. His wife was raised in the city so fireworks are a new thing for her and since we live in the country they always come here to shoot them. Hopefully they will still come and I can cook in the house. Anyways now that i have written another one of my books I will hush on this email anyways. Guest guest
LOL Jena, that was a short book! I'm in the same boat as you with the pain and not being able to sleep with it once again tonight Hugs to you! How nice, you like on the lake? How peaceful and wonderful! I'm jealous! I'm so glad you and hubby were able to do that. You must stop cleaning carpets for now. You said the other day that you were done cleaning carpets for a little while. I don't care that it was only a 4x4 spot! You said you'd stop!! Now do it. lol I know the feeling, I can't stand to see things out of order or messy either. But over the years, I've had to learn that I just can't do them like I use to. Matter of fact, I'm down to not hardly being able to do much of anything Jena. I can't even do laundry by myself anymore and don't cook every night anymore either. I hate it, but it's my life and I just try not to think about it, or I can get depressed and I don't want to be there either. I hope you are able to get some sleep. I'm probably up for the night. At least I slept longer tonight than I did the past 2 nights! Thursday night I was back up at 11:30 and last night it was 12:30. I actually made it till 2:30 tonight. lol It's a record so far! I sure enjoy chatting with you. We need to try and meet sometime, if possible, on AIM or Yahoo or something to chat live. We just seem to hit it off. I'm going to end this here in hopes of catching you before you lay back down. lol Gentle hugs to you Tommie Re: Jena, Closing Christmas Up I am not sure I am that much better or the pain meds have kinda built up. Guest guest
Hey Tommie, I am still here. I finally gave up and made me some coffee. Oh and the lake thing it is not like what you think. it is a watershed lake. that was built on my grandfathers property years ago..... it is certainly not a resort thing or anything like that. but it is quite and peaceful. What is your chat name on yahoo or aim. I have both. ~:~Jena~:~ My Home Page My E-mail Re: Jena, Closing Christmas Up I am not sure I am that much better or the pain meds have kinda built up.
