Guest guest
Hi Tess, This is Steph in VA. I have been on Remicade for almost 5 years. The nurse usually asks me where I what the needle. It may take more than 2 hours. The IV starts at a slow drip and gradually speeds up. The point of this is that if you develop an allergic reaction, it will happen quickly and you are better off if you do not have too much of the drug in you. To me, I feel cold as the med goes in because it has been refridgerated. I get Benadryl and Tylenol to prevent an allergic reaction, so I do not drive or go back to work after the treatment. Hope this helps! Steph in VA Hello, I am going for my first infusion of Remicade (Infliximab) on Tuesday. I will be going to a center at the Ohio State University Rhuematology dept. I was hoping some of you that have experience with this medication would share some information on what I might expect. Is the IV in the hand, inside elbow? Did it take a full two hours or more? How did you feel during and after? -I am suppose to go to work afterwards. -Should I tell them I may not be in depending on how I feel? Sincerely, Tess H. __________________________________________________
