Guest guest
Hello, Tess. Marina, here. I don't know that you will be up for working after your infusion. I went back to work after my first infusion, and wished I hadn't. I felt fine after so I didn't think it would be a big deal. With an hour, I felt drained. I just wanted to put my head down and sleep away for the rest of the day. For your first few infusions, you may want to keep the rest of those days free until you get an idea of how it will affect you. As for where the IV goes, that is generally dependent on your veins. It can go anywhere. Usually somewhere in the arms or hands. During the infusion I felt fine. They should have told you to take Tylenol and either Benadryl or Zyrtec for before your infusion. This helps minimize the side effects. It can take up to two hours or a little longer depending on how you are doing through it. I always took a book or gameboy with me to fill in the time. After it was over, I felt fine. Well, at least for about an hour. If I had anything I needed to get done in the day, I did it with in the hour after my infusion. After that, I went home to rest. Usually just stayed home and took it easy, sleep some. I wouldn't recomend working after. You may feel fine after, but when you have to keep applying your self for what ever you may be doing, you will feel your energy sap from you. That's why it is best to just take it easy for the rest of the day. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask me, either here or my email. Hope this has helped.....Marina/Ohio > > > Hello, > I have been on Enbrel, MTX for over two years now and now added > Predisone (5mg) daily. Guest guest
Thanks Marina, The nurse at the center did not suggest taking anything before coming in. I will call them and ask what I should take. Also, I am going to tell work not to expect me in. Thank you so much for your suggestions and sharing your experience with me. I appreciate it.
