Guest guest
Hi friends, I'm sorry about my delay in responding to all of those interested in the boric acid regime. I wanted to write a longer than usual response and I had to wait until the time is right, (no kids bothering me! LOL!) before I posted. If you check out the following website: http://207.48.132.28/issue/166/166vulvo.htm it explains under the topic, cyclic vulvovaginitis how B/A is used to help many who suffer from this condition. My GYN said that you can either make-up the capsules yourself, (this is quite messy) or you can call around to a pharmacy and ask if they would make them up for you if your Dr's office called an RX in for it. The routine I believe is as follows: (It would be BEST if you contacted your own Dr and/or pharmacist on this...as I didn't have the EXACT directions anymore). You need to get size O, (letter O not 0 zero) gel-caps, (if your pharmacy doesn't have them, they can order them for you. Mine did.) You also can get the boric acid powder at the pharmacy too. You fill the capsules half-way and insert on in the PM, 3-5 days before your period is due. You may want to put a THIN layer of vaseline in the outer vaginal area to help prevent any irritation B/A may cause. You would want to do this each month before your P if cyclic vaginitis is your problem. The B/A helps to combat the PH changes and help to advert cyclic vulvovaginitis. It explains this at the website I previously mentioned. Oh, B-T-W, I was told by my pharmacist that B/A is used in some eyewash products. If it's safe to put in the eyes, I would imagine it's safe to put in the vagina. I know of some gals who have had great success with B/A and it has cured them of their symptoms. I've heard some others say that it burned and irritated their skin. I guess the best course of action if you want to try this is to run it by your Dr. and stay in tune with your body...and what it's telling you! If it burns, I don't think you should continue it. But, PLEASE remember, I'M NO DR! It would be in your best interest to check with your Dr. first before pursuing this course of action. Hope this information is helpful to someone! Hugs and be well one and ALL! Carla
Guest guest
HI all Just a comment on the BORIC ACID, you can get it from most drug stores already made up and over the counter in the vitamin, health section. Dee
