Guest guest
Hi everyone, I spoke with my dad's doctor (urologist). His PSA is 4.9 and his gleason levels are 8 (one is a 9). Anyway, my dad's cancer is highly agressive and his is going for scans (CT and BONE)> He is not a candidate for surgery according to the urologist because of his high blood pressure, gout and he's overweight and the doctor feels that surgery would probably cause other problems. Anyway, the urologist wants to do external radiation, seed implantation and harmone therapy and says that he can do the implantation. My biggest question, shouldn't we have my dad at an onlcologist. If so, do I go To Sloan Kettering Memorial. What's the difference between a radiology oncolgist and an oncologist. How soon should we get him there, wait for the test results or go now? PLEASE, HELP, I FEEL LIKE IF I DON'T MOVE ON THIS QUICKLY THE CANCER WILL SPREAD. I WANT HIM IN TREATMENT ASAP. I LIVE IN NEW JERSEY
