Guest guest
Hi Jena, No, my CPU is in a cabinet in the desk. I do have a dinning room chair in here that I've been trying to put them up on but then I have to sit sideways and that gets uncomfortable after a while. My feet and legs are still extremely swollen. It's just going to take about a week of staying in bed to get them down, but I just don't wanna stay in bed a week. It's hard for me to do it even a day. Seems like such a waste of time. Perhaps tomorrow I can lay in bed and watch movies all day. It's just boring. Maybe I'll even start here in a bit and go lay down the rest of the day, they haven't been coming down much at night, but then again, I'm not in bed that long at night. lol I was in bed an hr last night, then for about 3 hrs this morning. We'll see. Tommie Hey Tommie, sorry to hear you are having problems. Is there anyway you can prop you feet up on your CPU. that is what I do. it is a pretty comfortable position for me. Sure hope you are feeling better today. Jena ~:~Jena~:~ My Home Page My E-mail .
Guest guest
this cabinet is totally open in the back, so that shouldn't be bad for it should it? Guest guest
My CPU has vents on the sides too. He says that all the vents should be able to get air. That his computer was acting up and he took it out of the little shelf thingy. and just set it in the floor out of the way and it is doing much better. These kids can be pretty sharp on these computers. I really don't know if there is anything to it or not. but it really does make a good foot prop. Guest guest
Don't forget to blow that dust out of there. I tend to let it go sometimes and end up with what looks like gray Chia Pets. They can really cause overheat. If your motherboard disc has a probe to monitor heat and fan speed...it's a good thing to install. *¬*.¸¸.·´¨`»*«´¨`·.¸¸.*¬* On the internet, no knows you're a cat. ~StrykerMom~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --- Jena wrote: > My CPU has vents on the sides too. Guest guest
Probably 'cause they all look alike inside after a bit..the fans pulling air thru the case. Some cases use filters to help but nothing replaces that good ol' can of air. ~~~~~ Stryker. It is an 8 wheeled army vehicle. They've been in the news a lot lately, esecially since the 172nd was redeployed to Baghdad instead of going home on schedule. My son is in the 172nd (now the 1/25th since being reflagged after they got home in november....still waiting for a few more to hit the us soil.) Those things cruise at 75mph and Iraqis have called them Ghost Riders. They aren't as noisy as some army vehicles. I became a StrykerMom when he became a Stryker Soldier. We use the Stryker Brigade News forum as a family support system. http://www.army.mil/features/stryker/default.htm http://www.dvidshub.net/index.php? script=images/images_gallery.php & action=viewimage & fid=27115 He's home right now and will be going back to Alaska in about a week. I now have a large Iraqi flag, a younger picture of Saddam and a few other goodies and lots of Iraqi sand in my carpet. Stuff stays forever. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --- Jena wrote: > now StrykerMom, how did you know what my computer > looked like? Guest guest
Oh, ok I was going back to my nursing days. I thought maybe your illness had something to do with you being on a Stryker frame at some point. And they probably don't even have those anymore more. since I haven't worked in a hospital in 22 years. Guest guest
yes, Darrell and me had our live all planned out. I was 2 months pregnant with Ken when I graduated from nursing school. Everything was going good and I had Beth and that threw us a loop and I tried working in a Dr's office 7 months since she was born but it just didn't work out. She was been taken care off the way I felt she should so I quit. and Have been taking care of her ever since except driving her school bus. I have kept my license up all these years. but now that I have messed up my back I don't know that I will. They are due this year the last time I renewed it was like 75.00 for that piece of paper. but I have always just felt I had to keep them. Guest guest
You might consider keeping the license up still. I will ask my sister who is a nurse also, she is disabled and on SSDI and for some reason she has to keep her license up. I'll ask her and get back to you. Guest guest
I know those frames well. I was an RNC, CSAC...RN speciializing in psych and substance abuse councelor. I do not keep that license up. I was also lucky enough to contract vacomyacin resistant enterococcus....when that happens...no health care career. I worked the icu's, medical/surgical and so on. I prefer StrykerMom cause someone is riding around in one...not me being in that kind of stryker. *shudder* Guess I can look it up if I feel compelled to find out what they use now. *¬*.¸¸.·´¨`»*«´¨`·.¸¸.*¬* On the internet, no knows you're a cat. ~StrykerMom~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --- Tommie wrote: > 22 yrs is a long time . Guest guest
I know, it is so hard just the thought of giving them up. I have always thought I could never pass boards again. if I ever had to go to work again. Not much of anyway I could now. but I still will probably renew them. it is like a identity of my very own. Guess that sounds crazy but that is the way I feel. I dearly loved nursing. I wanted to be a nurse since I was a kid. Did I tell you my DIL is going to nursing school? She is going to be a RN.
