This procedure isdone in the angio room. Dr. will be insertinga catheter going up through my groin (right leg?) andlasso a blood clot and fibrin sheath that hasdeveloped on my port-a-cath (port). The port islocated in my chest. Dr. will be going upthrough the subclavien vein that is located near theheart. I have had angio procedures before and findthem painful, as my veins are terrible. Neitherradiologists nor vascular surgeon understand why myveins are bad. Normally people with chronic illnesscan develop bad veins, as we receive various IVantibiotics or other meds, but mine are a bit worsethan what is considered normal, I guess. Procedure isdone in day surgery. I must lie quietly for 4-6 hours.Normally people lay flat, but I will have to besitting up for my lungs, but keep quiet. It’s going tobe hard to keep still! I am taking my portable DVDplayer along with me and perhaps will watch somemovies if I am not too groggy. Hoping for some "good"sedation for this procedure! depending on how mylungs are my Dad thinks that I maybe admitted tohospital for one night anyway even though its supposedto be day surgery. This would simply be forobservation. Please wish me luck, say prayers or send some positivethoughts or energy to help me through it, as I amrather nervous about having angio procedures based onprevious experiences. On Friday, I am to start another round of IVs once myport is working. Should be on them for about 3 weeks.Thank you!Hugs:0) Lize-mail:maryholt12@...:o) "Miracles happen with love....." .....
