Guest guest
I have never heard of a carb clensing, but I think you could do carb restriction, since all the carbs you consume are acted on with insulin, this is the one food element you need to know how to count for sure. I would highly recommend you learn to carb count, and a carb counting guide is available for you at your request. Just let us know, if you wish to have it. when sugars are high > Hello Everyone!! This what do you do when your sugars are high, and you sure don't want to eat carbs, right? what should one eat to bring the sugars down? like for breakfast, lunch or dinner. if I'm going to eat like I should, should I do like a carb cleansing? just thought I'd ask. > Best regards, > Bonnecarre > >
Guest guest
are you type 2 or type 1 diabetic? Based on knowing that, this will help us help you. One thing though, don't eat, skip the meal, and drink lots of water. Water helps your cells be more receptive to any insulin in your blood. When you are high, don't eat. If you eat, it will just feed the high sugar. You have to break it by skipping 1 or 2 meals and drinking lots of water. Regards, when sugars are high > Hello Everyone!! Guest guest
Theresa, You really don't want to eat anything except protein if your sugars are up. taking a prescribed amount of insulin would help. I don't know what you mean by carbohydrate cleansing. If that means not eating any carbs, that would be appopriate for the period of time to lower your blood sugar, but not eating any carbs for a long period would not be good either as the medication you are taking could then make you have a low blood sugar. the trick is to eat the right amount, but not too much-you want to keep the balance of your blood sugars within the normal limits without having highs or lows. It sounds like you need to see a dietician. However, many dieticians prscribe the American Diabetic diet, which uses more carbs than is necessary-especialy for type 2 diabetics. when sugars are high Hello Everyone!! Guest guest
Theresa, did you receive the attachment about carbs that I sent? It might be the same one Harry is sending. Re: when sugars are high , Your answer or reply below is not good enough. You do not know yet how to count carbs. The key to gaining control over diabetes is knowing how many carbs you consume. Insulin works on carbohydrates. Insulin does not work on protein. Insulin does not work on fat. Let us know when you are ready to learn how to count carbs. when sugars are high > > > > > > Hello Everyone!! Guest guest
I sent the attachment about carb counting again, since I noticed in my sent folder that the attachment was sent, but when I tried to open it from the sent folder, it was not there. So I guessed it got stripped from the email message the first time. It is the carb counter that was prepared by Dean Masters, I think. Any way I hope you get it this time. when sugars are high > > > > > > > > > Hello Everyone!!
