Guest guest
Someone on another list I belong to asked what normal postprandial BGs were. Anyone here know? After one hour? two hours? And does it depend on how many carbs were eaten for " normal " folks, like it does for us? Vicki

I shake my head wondering if they really do get a kick back on dispensing prescriptions. I mean seriously, what if all of us stopped needing medications and were able to keep our blood sugars normal with diet and exercise. Then what? I am not surprised when dietitians or even general practitioners make such statements, but it is a real disappointment when an endo acts this clueless. And things kept changing. I'm hoping soon we'll reach the point where I can stop it. These eighth unit doses are really, really hard to do! (but at least now I have the diluant to work with!) Guest guest
Vicki: When I got the last post I made, the columns were all mixed up so I will rephrase the response so it will work. The suggested readings, according to Kaiser, are listed in the following order: Excellent, Good, Fair, and Poor. Before meals: 80-120, 121-140,141-200, and 200+ 2 hours after meals: 120-140, 141-180,181-240. and 240+ I hope that this is easier to understand. Guest guest
The recommendations from the ADA is not higher than 180, but my doctor put my personal goal at 140. You should ask your personal physician about your post-prandial goal. Aloha, Janine " Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. " --Melody Beattie from Simple Abundance Save a life and gain a friend adopt a cat from a shelter.
