> Hello !

> I would relax if I were you. I'm 30 and I think we're in the same

boat. All of my bloodwork has been normal to date. The only reason

I know that I have arthritis is because I had a bone scan. I " lit up

like a Christmas tree " on the second set of scans. If it wasn't for

the bone scan, I don't think that the doctors would know what to do

with me. The bone scan showed which bones my arthritis is in. I

haven't had this long enough for any damage to show up on X-Rays

(thank God). I'm a mother of 2 little girls, ages 4 and 6, so I know

how scary it is getting a diagnosis such as this, especially when you

feel like you still have your whole life ahead of you. It's probably

better that the secretary didn't give you that much info over the

phone. I picked up the results to take to my doctor and read the

report myself. The words " degenerative process " all over the page

terrified me. I was upset and called my husband because I was only

29 and my feet shouldn't have been degenerating at all, LOL! How

could I have arthritis, I'm not old. In any case, my podiatrist

spent a lot of time going over the results with me, which helped me

to understand what was going on better. I was still shocked, but at

least I was better informed. I never new inflammatory arthritis

could effect somebody my age. Now, I know, LOL! I hope you have a

good appointment on Wednesday. I feel the better informed I am, good

news or bad, the more I feel that I'm in control of my situation.

After all, I've got to live with this disease a long time. As for

giving things up, I do what I want in spite of the pain (as much as I

can). Life is too short to sit on the sidelines. In my case, my

arthritis is worse in my feet. It doesn't matter if I'm not walking

because my feet always hurt, so I do as much as I can tolerate.

> First, thanks to all of you who responded to an earlier post of

mine about bone scans! I appreciate your thoughtfulness.

> Second, every blood test I have had done has come back normal for

all the RA stuff. I just got the results from my bone scan today. I

was not surprised to find out something was wrong. The dr. will not

give me much information, I had to schedule an appt. so I

can " discuss " it with them. From the little info the secretary would

give me, I think it is either RA or Lupus.

> I am scared to death. I'm a mother of 4, wife to 1, volleyball

coach, substitute teacher, etc and I am not ready to give up anything

I do or want to do with my life. I am only 34 years old, and I want

to feel like I'm 20! lol

> I guess I just wanted to chime in and say I'm scared. I won't get

to see the dr. until Wednesday so I've got tonight and tomorrow to be

scared I guess. Please keep me in your prayers, I'm hoping it's okay

to assume here that you all have been in my shoes before and that's

why I'm writing to you all. Also, I hurt like... well, I hurt a lot.
