Guest guest
Glad to hear you are doing the tea tree oil! I did it for about three weeks and a week ago discovered that I had a clear chest! Can't believe it! I swam today for almost 30 minutes and didn't even get winded. There IS life after Bronch! PS. I ordered a nebulizer last night to use with saline. Guest guest
I ordered the salt pipe and paid with a credit card. It came through customs fine and was billed with a notice of both the cost in pounds and in dollars. I have been using it about a month and noticed that I coughed up big globs of yellowish gunk. I know cough only clear stuff when I cough so I have noticed an improvement. I have tea tree oil but haven't tried it yet. I do the 30 minutes of exercise on an elliptical trainer. Does anyone else get lightheaded when they are done exercising? (55) from Iowa Blab-away for as little as 1¢/min. Make PC-to-Phone Calls using Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
thanks, . I intend to get a saltpipe to try. Was just wondering if anyone has found a place to order them in the US. I've started doing as Lee suggested and inhaling the steam from a pot of boiling water with tea tree oil in it. I put a towel over my head over the pot, kind of a tent, and breathe in for a couple of minutes. I think that helps too to make me breathe better and ultimately to cough stuff up. Haven't tried the tea tree oil in the nebulizer though. Guest guest
I personally do not believe there is much difference in using the saltpipe and nebulising salty water. Maybe if the secretions are thick the extra water helps to get them out. The main benefit of the saltpipe is that it is portable and can be used away from home when access to a nebuliser is not possible, I use both and have not had any ill effects. Guest guest
Maybe also TTO. However, I understand you must clean the neb more frequently when you use TTO in it. I use a snorkel mask when I swim as it enables me to regulate my breathing with my arm strokes. Fun! Also, if you are a beginning swimmer it will give you confidence. Also, I have found a good laugh loosens the gunk! Cheers and good luck, Lee
Guest guest
wow, Lee, good for you. If I follow in your path, I might even be able to swim and I don't even know how! I do think that I breathe better right away after inhaling the tea tree oil in boiling water. How are you going to use the nebulizer?? Only saline? , Portland, OR From: Foebegirl@...Reply-To: bronchiectasis To: bronchiectasis Subject: Re: Re saltpipeDate: Thu, 27 Apr 2006 20:30:29 EDT Glad to hear you are doing the tea tree oil! Guest guest
, I couldn't find anywhere to purchase the salt pipe in the US. We seem to not be as connected with alternative approaches in the US. I bought tea tree oil and use it for cuts and cleaning but hadn't thought of breathing it. I'm willing to give it a whirl. I take sulfa antibiotics about every three months when I start coughing up blood otherwise I seem to be OK. The docs just give me a 12 month prescription for it. How low will we go? Check out Yahoo! Guest guest
, I received my nebulizer today, which is very fast service! Here is where I ordered it and some specs on what I ordered: www.hmint.com/Pages/neu22.htm. The nebulizer uses 2 AA batteries, not included, and takes 7mL of medication. The neb I ordered was slightly different than the one suggested by Rob Muston on his web page, however, due to the fact the one he suggested was not currently listed in their web catalog. It is an Omron NE - U22V, and the V stands for vibrating mesh technology, which seems to be a recent innovation, and cost slightly over $250 with a 2 year warranty. The mesh looks fragile, and I wish I had ordered a second mesh part. You may want to do that. When fully assembled the neb fits into a carrying case slightly larger than an ordinary glasses case. Very portable! It comes with instructions in three languages and a video to watch. With all that help I may be able to get it together! Ha. (I'm not good with gadgets) There is also a phone number directly to the distributor, SAFE HOME PRODUCTS, and a direct web site also: www.SafeHomeProducts.com Phone Fax and, finally, Email sales@... I didn't know about the direct access when I ordered. You may prefer it to the other web site. Cheers, Lee
