Guest guest
Hi , I've just read your posting - my first thought is that the material is the work, no more, no less - this might sound simplistic, but to be honest I'm not sure what else there is to suggest. The concepts are the same, the beliefs - ok, it may seem more extreme the situation, but maybe only in your mind - for example, is there any difference between the thought: " It shouldn't be raining " and " He shouldn't have raped me " ? The only difference I'd suggest is attachment to the belief. And I'm not totally convinced of this myself, which is why I suggest it, I don't know for sure. I remember listening to a facilitation session where someone did the work on something 'serious' (I can't remember what exactly) and the next person to work with apologised at the start, saying her issue was trivial in comparison. said something like it didn't matter, suffering is suffering - all issues are equal. That's what I took from it anyway. Maybe there are thoughts or beliefs you have about being beaten or raped that could be inquired into, this may help you to feel more confident about working on these kind of issues with other people. With love and thanks, Jon
