Guest guest
Please keep an open mind when you read this and don't take it personally. Sorry for confusing some of you. I am NOT saying that we can't discuss yeast. What I was frustrated about is that there has been a little surge of posts which kind of emphasize why certain people believe that we should be free to discuss yeast until the cows come home. Some of these are coming to my personal mailbox, and not the list, so I can understand why I confused you. I should have clarified better, but I was in a rush at the time. Just to reiterate my position on the yeast discussions. I do not mind people talking about yeast and yeast related issues to a point. However, I do not want this list to be so00 focused on yeast. If the topics go on and on, I will encourage you to table the discussion here and take it to the new VulvarPainandYeast list that I created (which is free of moderation, so go crazy on yeast if you like). I posted about this list and encouraged those who are heavy into the yeast discussion to consider joining that list (not instead of this list, but in addition to). Guess how many people have joined so far - zero! What bugs me is that I'm getting so many email messages from listmembers who say that they're tired of and frustrated with the constant emphasis on yeast. They're emailing me privately out of " fear of being crucified " , " fear of being attacked " , etc. from the yeast zealots. That's what I mean by the yeast issue being a problem and that I'm not making it up. I've also received email from newbies asking if this list is only for discussion of yeast. See the problem here, folks? Yes, I can delete messages that start with " yeast " and so can others, but there comes a point where " enough is enough " . This list was not created to be a place for discussion of yeast. It was created to be a support resource for people with vulvar pain. I'm tired of people writing me telling me why they should be able to talk about yeast until forever. I've made my decision and I'm not going to change it. If you missed my decision, it's because you didn't read my post and I suggest you go back in the archives and do that. Some people have written me and said I have an attitude that's going to push people away. My attitude is derived from the fact that this is my list and I have established guidelines. If people don't like the fact that this is my list and that they have to follow my guidelines, they are free to leave. I have no problem with that. I know that I can't make everyone happy. However, the fact is that we still have 197 members and with that large a group, moderation is a necessity. Hopefully everyone is clear now. I'm not doing this to any one person particularly (as some of you have felt). I'm not doing this to hurt people or censor them. I'm just doing what I think is in the best interest of the group. Simple as that. If anyone is still unclear, please feel free to email me privately at mailto:dwalsh@.... I feel I've been respectful of everyone, so I hope that you will be too. Warmly, Heidi http://www.onelist.com/subscribe.cgi/VulvarPainandYeast to join the yeast discussion list.
