Guest guest
Hello everyone. I am a new member and actually have not yet even read an e-mail from anyone in the group, but would like to put a question out there. My 12 year old daughter was just recently diagnosed with EDS (9/05) as well as Chiari Malformation and under went a very extensive decompression in Jan. During the time we spent in NY for her surgery I decided I should also have a complete work-up done. I too, was diagnosed with EDS, but instead of also having Chiari, I was diagnosed with tethered spinal cord syndrome. My doctor said it was due to the Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and scheduled me for surgery next month. I can not find any information on the one causing the other or even any relationship between the two. I am very nervous to undergo another spinal surgery when the others I have already been through (C3-4 fusion, and L5-S1 laminectomy) have failed to relieve my chronic pain. Does anyone in the group have EDS as well as tethered spinal cord syndrome and was told by their doctor that it was due to the EDS? Or does anyone have any infromation on this topic? I would appreciate it, thank you. EDS.MOMANDDAUGHTER --------------------------------- Relax. Yahoo! Mail virus scanning helps detect nasty viruses!
