Guest guest
Hi, All, I've been offline since Tuesday. I had my ERCP on Thursday and had to stay overnight in the hospital, mainly because the procedure was completed so late in the day. It went well, but I am very, very sore from it, this time. I think my doc got my ducts a little more dilated than before. That was great news. I found out disheartening news from the insurance company. Although they will pay for the donor's operation, hospitalization, etc., they'll pay nothing on the evaluation of the donor for the living donor option. Two of those who want to be considered have appointments with the tx team in October. I know they don't have money to foot the entire bill of eval. on their own, nor do I at this point (and there are two others to go!). Does anyone know of a group that helps with additional expenses for those of us who will be transplanted? I'm going to get in touch with my case manager at New England Med on Monday to see what resources he knows about. Now, for some " whining " ---It is sooo hard to be sick and to have to deal with the mechanics of this stuff at the same time. It seems I am always on the phone to my primary care doc for " authorizations " or to my insurance co., or whatever. YUK. 'nuff said. I'll be catching up with y'all through the posts from the past few days as I sort through them. I hope all is well with you. And thanks for listening.
