Guest guest
For sure leaving the list is clearly not the answer. Each person has something of real value to offer. While we are not family, in many ways we are more than that; we are friends! There is a fellowship of understanding that most people just cannot grasp. They, the outsiders, say things like, oh just cut down your portions, or a little piece of cake won't hurt. They just don't get it. Another thing they do is just shudder and look away. For them this would be the end of life, life as in eat, drink and be merry. This is all they can deal with. We each know life does go on and can be even richer and more full of meaning because we have learned to treasure it. Harry has much good information. I think he should stay and be an active member of our group of friends. Each of us Harry has learned to change in many ways. Perhaps you could take a serious thoughtful honest look at yourself and see if there may, just may, be room for a gentler approach. Words such as, have you , considered, or the following suggestions may help, or you may wish to think about..... Harry no one could or should put words in your mouth, but gentleness is the oil that moves social intercourse between humans. It helps a whole lot. So how about being direct in your information and gentler in your encouragement? Not one single person has suggested you leave our group. Guest guest
thanks Babs, I also am glad u had a really nice thanksgiving. I did have a good one also, my son took me and my ex hubby , were best friends, out to dinner and also his room mate, so it was the four of us. we have been to this restaurant before and they do put on a great thanksgiving dinner. And... it was great. very filling. then on friday, no shopping for this girl, no way, LOL I cooked a small turkey my neighbor gave to me, it was about twelve pounds and I got up friday and cooked it, and then got mrs smiths frozen pumpkin pies, which I like and always bake, and baked two of them, my ex will eat all of them if I let him, LOL actually I only had one slice so far, and there is only one half pie left. LOL so he has been enjoying him self between the turkey leftovers that I prepared.and the pies are almost gone but we got three pies, I only baked two of them, so one more pie to bake and that will be it for me. LOL This year was a very relaxing day for me, and not so much pain due to the fact that on thursday I didnt have to do much just laze around till we went out to eat which was at six thirty pm, and then friday I got up early to cook the turkey for sandwiches and went and got the pies and baked them and I did have a little bit of pain doing only that!! But I am ok now. glad all of this is over, now on to Christmas, LOL I go to my family's house for christmas, I have a huge family and there are 8 of us kids, and so one of my sisters who is in tip top shape, she is younger than me, she always has christmas at her place, sometimes its buffet style and then sometimes she bakes loads of lasagne, which is great, and its so good to be all together with my parents and brothers an sisters. OMG, I wrote a book, sorry, I just wanted to let you all know what my day was like. I hope all of you had a great day and also hope not too much pain was involved. everyone please take care, and I will shut up for now. LOL love, denise in orlando florida who cannot just type a short post, LOL Debi Calcutt wrote: Thanks Babs Glad you had a really nice one!
