Gidday all you Aussies and the rest of the world--

I may be getting some good news; my previously resistant to every IV

antibiotic lung infection (still pseudomonas) may be

LEVAQUIN-SENSITIVE! I am awaiting a call from the doctor and

pharmacist/chemist.

I am still on 20mg of prednisone; I will stop taking Cipro and

Doxycycline when I change over to Levaquin.

I honestly can't remember; does appetite for food return as the

infection is controlled? I eat 2-3 meals a day and take a liquid

supplement, but I can't say I'm ever really hungry. My digestion is

very very slow and I feel full for hours after a meal.

Arizona, bronchiectasis, probable immotile cilia, looking for that

patch of blue...

H , I am surprised that you have no appetite while you are on

predsinone...I could eat anything with four legs including the

table..I am still only 58kg. and 172 cm tall .

Have you had any intravenous antibiotics for the pseud? that usually

knocks it about a bit...I find oral AB's are pretty useless especially

ciproxin even when the bug is sensitive to it in vitro. Just getting

it to the seat of infection seems to be the problem. I have a Dr. who

hauls me in for a periodic clean out when my tailfeathers are dragging.lol

Hope you get a good result on the levaquin. Cheers Carole.

Sorry, re-read your post and it does say you have had IV abs, DOH!

Have you ever been tested for one of the different forms of Cystic

fibrosis? Your symptoms are pretty suspicious. They are finding that

there are different tyypes of CF and some do not get diagnosed early

on and are not as life threatening.Carole
