Guest guest
Sumchyk was found muttering these words: I may be willing to try anything... I am getting ready for another MRI -- they are checking for 4th tethering in as many years. We are doing the flip/flop style MRI to see if the cord moves forward when I am pictured on my stomach and then on my back. If the cord doesn't move, it is once again tethered. Then, of course, I need to decide if I should be operated on again. There is some law of diminishing returns here after a certain number of untetherings I think. The last operation was in March, so I haven't even made it a year! Anyway.. haven't had the MRI yet so I could just be imagining things, right? And, if the Hyperbaric Chambers helps, it would be great to find out. M > Interesting, Kathy. You would almost think it would help in some > way. Guest guest
Where did this hyperbaric chamber thread get started? I dont find the message below. I have a friend from school that had a stroke, he is saving up all his $ for a 8 week treatment next June. He has done a lot of research and really thinks it will help him. He is going to have it done in Sante Fe New Mexico, seems like he said $15k for 8 weeks including room & board. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE ! Guest guest
Hey Rick I started it, I think over a month ago, never received a response, then Brande somehow picked it up. As I said, I began to think about how my nsg always said the oxygen to my spinal cord after an untetethering would turn my spinal cord a beautiful color and how the blood would start to flow almost immediately upon being freed. For some reason, his comments have always stuck with me, which got me thinking about something had said years ago about oxygen or lack thereof to our cords causes a lot of damage (paraphrasing.) That made me think about hyperbaric chambers. A local GYN in our old town had bought one years ago and it was always in the local paper and how they would send burn victims and divers to his chamber for treatments as it was the only one in the area. I would always, for some reason, read these articles and they always explained one part or another of the treatment. So, I put it all together and wondered if forced 02 into our systems would somehow help - even for short term which in my mind would be better than meds. Kathy Re: Re: Hyperbaric Chambers for us?
