Guest guest
Here's what I posted a few days ago in answer to a question about the hands: Early in my experience, I had a hard time with my hands and was prescribed to use a wax bath with plastic gloves and I carried it a step further by also wearing heavy gloves with the wax. It didn't seem to make much difference at the time, but I think it did make a difference long-term. I even used it on other joints, like elbows, feet and knees. I was desperate enough to try anything back then. For body parts that wouldn't fit, we spooned it on, and that worked almost as well as dipping. If your hands are that bad, I think you'll need more than a wax bath. If you haven't seen a doctor for it, you should, and as soon as possible. There are much better treatments than before, and you still might have a good chance. Guest guest
The warmth of a heating pad helps when I'm in a Fibro flare, wrapping the heating pad around my arms and wrists helps. Or if the pain is crawling up my back, then laying on the heating pad helps. Hi again. I was wondering how many of you have benefited from the use of a parafin wax dip for your hands? It was suggested to me by a friend, and I wondered if it would actually be beneficial. What other simple items are helpful for me to have at home to help deal with the pain? Hot water bottle, heating pads or electric blankets? I appreciate the feedback everyone provides. Seeing as I am newly diagnosed, I have so much to learn. I felt totally isolated when I was first given the news by my Dr., but finding this group has really helped me feel positive about finding the right meds to manage this disease.
