Guest guest
Yes, and yes. The B6 that works for us is P-5-P. I use about 35 mgs/day with my 4.5 year old son. Guest guest
We have seen *many* kids who did poorly on SNT who do great on Brainchild vitamin supplements with B6. Our doses aren't as high as those in SNT. Terri at Brainchild At 09:16 AM 10/20/2005, you wrote: >Anybody here have a child that did poorly on Super NuThera go on to do >well on B6 alone? Guest guest
Thanks Terrie. I just started a trial of P5P and if that works out I may try some Brainchild. I would like to consolidate some of his pills into one. H. > We have seen *many* kids who did poorly on SNT who do great on > Brainchild > vitamin supplements with B6. Guest guest
, You're welcome. Make sure to give plenty of magnesium and other B vitamins, and to go gradually with the dosing on the P5P. It all works together. Oh, and don't give P5P late in the day unless you want him dancing all night! Terri At 08:52 AM 10/22/2005, you wrote: >Thanks Terrie. Guest guest
Terri, In reviewing the Brainchild ingredients it also contains TMG. I have read in this groups e-mails and other materials that TMG can block the uptake of the MB-12 for some children. Do you know if Brainchild has a multi-supplement without the TMG? Thanks, Nadia Terri wrote: , You're welcome. Make sure to give plenty of magnesium and other B vitamins, and to go gradually with the dosing on the P5P. It all works together. Guest guest
Not Terri, but we use the Ultra Sentitive Formula because of that. It does not contain TMG. It works really well here. Guest guest
Nadia, I've never heard that about TMG. I guess I've read some kids do better on DMG or nothing at all, but not any explanation behind it. Interesting. Our son takes an oral mB12/p-5-p/TMG/folinic blend that has worked wonders for him so far. He's been taking it for a year. Guest guest
, I started Ian on a supplement from New Beginnings Nutritionals called Basic Nutrients Plus (capsule). It contains many of the B vitamins, including B12 in methylcobalamin form and B6 in P-5-P form (100 mcg and 10 mcg respectively). It also has magnesium citrate, selenium, molybdenum (plus more). No copper. The standard gluten, corn, egg, soy, dairy, artificial this-and-that free. I'm not an employee and am not competing with Terrie... just offering what seems to be working for us. I still supplement extra mB12 (oral) and P-5-P, though. The website is www.nbus.com on the bottle. I ran across these at the last DAN! conference. Guest guest
Thanks. I'll check into that one.
