Guest guest
Hey , Thanks so much for the positive message. When the time comes for me to start ISC, I'm ready for it. That time won't be for a while, though, I'm happy to report. I saw the urologist earlier this week and he said that " things look better than (he) originally thought. " My bladder is still neurogenic and weak, but he thinks I am emptying " enough " at this point. He wants me to continue to try on my own, but was very reassuring and said that I could come back and see him at any point if I was having any problems. I lucked out when I was referred to him! Thanks to the positive messages I've received from you and , self-cathing is no longer a worry. Thank you for that. Have a wonderful weekend, Debbie Date: Thu, 6 May 2004 12:01:44 +0100 Subject: Debbie - cathing > > Dear Debbie, > > Intermittent self-catheterisation is great once you get used to it. I find it a great help, you then run your day according to the time rather than how close you are to a toilet. You can also carry the things you need to do it with you in a small make-up bag, or a pocket, so no-one else need know. I find it helps me greatly. > > Make sure that the nurse who shows you how to use the catheters checks that you are doing it OK and that you have someone you can ask about any problems you may get later. Once you get the hang of it and get into a routine, it will be better than before. > > Hope all goes well, do not worry about using the catheters. > Best wishes, > , > Lincoln, UK
