Ram,

My son did this occasionally over the past 6 months. Like you say,

most of the time just wanting to lay in bed with his eyes open. No

agitation at all.

We just finished our treatment for pinworms (I actually saw them in

his stool). I am thinking the anal irritation at night was the

culprit. If your stool tests show parasites, I hope you have the same

positive sleep changes after treatment. Even when I thought he slept

all night, I'll bet he didn't. Ian is so much happier now! The dark

circles have nearly disappeared.

We are also dealing with chronic minor constipation: he is on an

every other day schedule since I added magnesium citrate (150-250

mgs/day in two doses) to his supplement regimen. I was told the

Vermox we used to treat the parasites can also constipate, as well as

the pinworms themselves.

Thank you Pam! We don't see the pinworms in the stools, but is a

definite possiblity and we will talk to our DAN and Pediatrician to

find out if he has the infection.

And we are hoping controlling parasites will help his constipation,

frustrations and insomnia too. Let us see!

Thanks,

Ram
