Guest guest
I was looking at 's Organix and she has many highs but one stands out: 5-Hydroxyindoleacetate 95% Reference Interval 1.2 - 39---- has >160 !!!! In the brochure it says it is a Neurotransmitter breakdown product, and that it is related to Total Body Serotonin production. What does that mean in " dummies " words? Joyce M. Guest guest
A blockage in the seratonin pathway. A metametrix panel would recommend appropriate levels of nutrients to help this. My son too had this.He doesn't process tryptophan or precursors to it.We gave 5 htp and it seemed to help.As we chelated the need for this declined. Hope this helps, Dottie
Guest guest
Hi Joyce, Does veronica have sleep issues? I've always understood that 5-HIAA is what alot of tryptophan is being wasted to instead of following the route of tryptophan - 5HTP - serotonin- melatonin - hence our children's prblems with sleep as they are not converting properly! We have to give melatonin every night to be sure of sleep and that doesn't work if we have gut bugs as we have at the moment. High 5-Hydroxyindoleacetate I was looking at 's Organix and she has many highs but one stands out: 5-Hydroxyindoleacetate 95% Reference Interval 1.2 - 39---- has >160 !!!!
