Guest guest
Margot, After the lumbar puncture you should lie quite still for several hours. I have had two of them without headaches or problems. Be quiet and stay still, you will be fine. Regards, Tom Lumbar puncture OK. I admit I am getting nervous about this thing. It is scheduled for Nov 5th. I am having it done in Willmar, about 1n hour drive from where I live. Does anyone have any suggestions for the drive home after? I am thinking about taking out the rear and middle seat from the vam and lying on the floor on my camp mattress with a sleeping bag. Good idea? Bad idea? Guest guest
Margot, That might be a good idea as well.. You won't be in any pain from the LP.. but you do want to keep your head from getting any lower than the rest of your body too... (flat).. just make sure the doc doing the LP has you lie flat for at least 45 minutes following the LP.. I used the reclining seat in the car, and reclined it a bit on the way home, but then I only have about 1/2 drive from the doctors office home. She (the neuro) did make me lie flat on my back (I was allowed to bend one leg up though for comfort) on the table for 45 minutes before she allowed me to sit up even... and then we took the fluid to the hospital ourselves and walked it in.. they drew blood while I was there after taking the spinal fluid and marking it. I did not get the headache afterwards until I got stupid later that night, and tried to lean over in my computer chair to swap out headhones for speaker wires on the back of my computer.. butt in chair, head near floor type thing.. |)onna From: bean999_99 To: MSersLife Sent: Sunday, October 26, 2003 8:34 PM Subject: Lumbar puncture OK.
