Guest guest
I thought that my impairments were due more to the medications that I was put on then the RA itself. Since I quit taking some of those meds my ability to remember things came back. My ability to do math problems in my head came back too. I had been on flexeril, Ultram and Vioxx. It caused me to stutter and lose reality. The doctors couldn't say which drug it was or if it was the combination but I decided to not take any of them. I now use Skellaxin as it is a very mild muscle relaxer and doesn't impair my ability to think when on it. I use Bextra and will be on Mobic when my Bextra prescription runs out as the military pharmacy doesn't carry Bextra anymore. It doesn't seem to affect my thinking either. Ultram just scares me - Everything I have read about it doesn't say much. No one knows for sure what if anything the drug does or how it may affect you long term. My RA doctor has quit prescribing it to her patients. She said she has had to many with adverse reactions to it. I know I am drug sensitive and that some affect me worse then others and some I don't react to at all like Vicoden. I am allergic to Percoset, Darvoset - I guess they say all drugs that end in set I am allergic to. I want to rip off my skin when dosed with them. It is interesting to know though that RA can cause cognitive impairments. Very interesting...do you think I could tell my hubby that it is the RA that makes me not want to clean the house...lol God bless, Althea
