Guest guest
Go to your drug store and buy some Monostat, an OTC over the counter treatment for yeast infection. It comes in several strengths, a three day treatment, a five day treatment and a seven day treatment. Get the one you think will work. Fortunately, men do not get this problem usually. Also your physician can order a prescriptiion for you, which is usually a pill for one day. yeast infection > I know it is an embarrasing issue, but do men get it than women? and if you do how do you deal with it? I'm sorry ,but it is part of being diabetic! > Best regards, > Bonnecarre > >
Guest guest
, Men getting a yeast infection probably happens more than we'd like to admit, and it is something we do have to deal with. I don't think that men get it more than women do, but as cavalier as this sounds, it's " normal " for a woman to get it at some time in their life, it's not as normal for a man to get it, and in either case requires quick medical attention. Unfortunately most men would never admit they got it, let alone going to the doctor's office to do something about it. And as far as that goes, any kind of infection can throw a kink into our diabetic care because now the body has to use its energy to fight off an infection so it changes the dynamics of how it deals with sugar levels just as it would when you get a simple cold. The same is true for blood pressure, too: You get a cold, your BP goes up. You injure your finger ot toe and it's really painful, there goes your BP too. So dealing with an infection will raise your blood sugars. If you're concerned your husband or boyfriend has a yeast infection, he needs to see a doctor quickly. And if you have diabetes, just know that for a few days anyway, your blood sugar is going to run high until the infection subsides. You brought up a good subject here for us to think about. Guest guest
Theresa, It is not uncomman for a diaagbetic woman to het a yeast infection. Usually it happens if you are on an antibiotic or if your sugars have been running too high for a period of time. The extra sugar in your body allows the yeast to overcome the noramal bacteeria found in that area. There are a number of over the counter medications with monostat being the best. if that doesn't work, call your doc and he/she can prescribe a pill. but, it is real important to get your BG level down and keep it there! Guest guest
yup, and to get your sugars under control it is as simple as cutting back carbs you eat per meal and replacing carbs with green leafy veggies and good meats like chicken/fish/turkey/tuna etc. Regards, Re: yeast infection > > > , > > Men getting a yeast infection probably happens more than we'd like to admit, > and it is something we do have to deal with. Guest guest
Many men can get yeast infections from their wives or girl friends. And it is no laughing matter. Yeast infections are highly contageous. So lol, it is sad to think that some women don't know that. Guest guest
Theresa, I have not heard that mineral oil is good for a yeast infection. Yogurt is good, but you have to watch the amount as it is high in carbs. Getting your sugar down to a much lower level will cure the yeast infection. yeast loves high sugar. I have seen uncontrolled diabetic women and men with yeast and fungal infections all over their legs and abdomen. so get those sugars down! has your doc mentioned insulin?
