Guest guest
Hello My name is Bill and I am 41 and married to my wife Judy and we have 2 boy's 13 and 6. We also live in Indiana. My wifes sister has epilepsy and she is my age, she had a device like a pace maker implanted in her to stop the seizures when she has one coming on. She has a magnet she keeps on her to swipe the implanted device to stop the sezures. It works great for her she has not had a seizure for several years now, before the device was installed she had them all the time. My cousin Ken lives in San Francisco and likes living out there. There are 3 of us in this group that go to a local MS meeting in Greenfield Indiana once a month. We meet every third thursday of the month. They have guest speakers once in a while and a few months ago we had a massage therapist that came to speak to the group about how massages and the different techniques you teach can help someone with MS. Welcome to the group and I hope you make a few new friends. Bill intoducing myself-finally Hello Everyone Finally some time to say hello and thank Andreia for bring me into this group, and the welcome I have received. My name is I'm 43--44 in March, dx'd in 96, live in San Francisco with my beloved and our 2 cats. I play both the caretakee and the caretaker as has Epilepsy and a slight case of Cerebral Palsy, but we manage well together since I've found it easier having a partner who really understands what it's like to live with a "problem". I spent 20 years in the book business, quit that to become a massage therapist and finally do something real with my life, when, whoops 3 months later my entire body begins shaking so hard I could barely stand. 3 months later came the dx. They got the tremors down to my hands, so while I was still able to keep my massage practice my clients enjoyed the extra vibration! Still try to do a massage now and then, but that good old fatigue just doesn't want to let me keep it up. Physically, knock on wood, in pretty good shape. Mentally, I was a basket case the first 3 years, attempted suicide 4 times, but this April will be 5 years since the last attempt, so fingers crossed, I'm getting over that bridge. So, that's me. I hope all are well and looking forward to getting to know you.
Guest guest
Thank you Bill I've read some wonderful things you've written. Luckily, 's seizures aren't serious enough for the implant, tho we have looked into it. Glad it's helping your sister-in-law. Maybe someday I could meet your cousin, or you if you make it to this beautiful city for a visit. Massages are great for MS, try to get them as often as I can afford, still trying to figure out how to give myself one! Guest guest
Hi Lynn Loved the image of the dog wiggling on his back. Just wish it was as good as a massage!!!!!! Someday I'm going to figure how to give them on-line. Been told I can do it over the phone, so anything is possible. Guest guest
Hi I am glad you joined our group If you ever feel down make use of people in the group to let people know about it. I work and maintain our church's web page and I have a poem section and all of the poems are from people who have MS, except one person and she was told by doctors she had MS and it turned out the steroids they had her on made it look like she had MS. When she went off the steroids her MS symptoms cleared up. Here are the poems. http://www.ncfirstnazarene.org/poems.htm If anyone in the discussion group write poems that could be used on a church web page you can let me know and maybe I can make use of it. Guest guest
Thanks Bill--wow the first time I've been published (well sort of published) myself-published other people's work, but never my own. Last name is Chleboun, don't bother trying to pronounce it, no one can, but it doesn't matter if you add it or not. intoducing myself-finally Hello Everyone Finally some time to say hello and thank Andreia for bring me into this group, and the welcome I have received. Guest guest
, I live about 20 minutes away from Durham! I'm going to try to post more, but time gets away from me. I belong to other groups, too, and I'm behind on them! Right now, I'm battling a nasty cold. I knew it was a matter of time - all my "babies" have had colds for the last couple of weeks. I hope I'll have a chance to contribute to the list more often. Take Care, Hi Great to meet you--sounds like we have a lot in common--though you are keeping yourself much busier than I am. Seems I'm stuck to the computer--think I'm involved in too many groups!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for the compliment on the poem. I hope you get a chance to post more often so we can have a chance to get to each other more. oh one more thing in common--sort of---my bro got his masters at Duke, but it was many years ago Talk soon Calif.
