Guest guest
My Dr. told me anything over 126 is considered diabetic for FBG. nn Type 2, Dx Oct 98, Glucophage, MDI R & NPH tottie@... Results > My uncle's wife is currently being checked out for type 2. She is having a fasting blood glucose done (a repeat). Her first fbg reading was 6.3 (113). What is the approx normal range for a diabetic vs. non-diabetic for this test. I'm going to be telling her about the gtt and hba1c, but just wanted to get the scoop on > the fasting normal range first. > > Thanks, > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Good friends, school spirit, hair-dos you'd like to forget. > Classmates.com has them all. Guest guest
Cheryl, I would also ask for the skin test. Isabella had the skin test and they just took a scraping from the inside of her mouth. They tested over 1000 cells. I think it was pretty accurate them testing that many. I think they tested more cells on her than anyone I have heard of. I think the results you got back are all good news. I hope you can relax a little until you get the rest of the test back. I think all is going to be fine. Mostly? Well, I guess she has an inversion on the long arm of chromosome 9, which is thought to have no clinical effects. This is as long as there is no genetic material is missing (or extra material) Then they proceeded to tell me it was a normal xy..... Wait a minute?! She's a girl! What do you mean XY? Oops....that' s what the report says...let me call you back. Those were the longest 10 minutes of my life....I had to make my husband answer the phone because I was too upset. Well, turns out lab error....it' s a normal xx. What a relief! I was mentally prepared for anything I thought....turns out I was not prepared for her to have an xy chromosome pair! I am still recovering from that 10 minutes of hell...I can't even begin to tell you how confused and unprepared I was for that! Anyways, they are going to be doing more testing and closer examination of chromosome 9. We have also asked for a skin test to rule out mds. She has an apt tomorrow with the developmental ped....and will be following up with geneticist. Well, just thought I would update! Guest guest
We had our apt today with the developmental ped who gave us a referral for EI. She said that we need to start her on this because she has low tone, delayed speech, and delayed gross motor. She also recommended that when we talk to the geneticist today that we ask to have a microarray done to closer examine all the chromosomes in addition to the skin mds test. I am glad that the doctor today saw something as well and didn't call me crazy! She was so nice! She spent over an hour with Brielle doing her assessments! It was so much more pleasant than our other dr visits.....even though I had to haul all 4 kids with me today! Cheryl
