Guest guest
68 y/o with metastatic bladder cancer to the point it is in bones: all over ribs and has steel rods in both legs, he is on Oxycontin 30 mg Q8 Klonipin 0.5 Q8 and Percocette for breakthrough for which he is using 9 pills daily. Also on Compazene 3 x daily. Still smoking. Declines Hospice but getting closer. Now of course has right lower lobe pneumonia. Has always been with severe anxiety (i.e. forcing himself to stay awake waiting for the hosptial bed repair man even tho wife and daughter home, daily begging wife to stay home from her new job) but now he's lost his business and soon his life. Would medical marijuana help with anxiety? make it worse? It would help his appetite as he's not eating. Would it give better pain control than the narcotics? How would it compare to the compazine for the nausea? I spoke to oncologist who wasn't listening. Ended up increasing the Klonipin to Q 6 but told the family I would research the marijuana angle more. I appreciate any help. Thank you. Oh, won't try SSRI due to previous h/o of becoming violent on one in distant past when he tried to quit. NSAIDs for pain out of the question s/o one GI bleed already.
