Guest guest
I am truly in need of advise. My mom has RA and is on a number of meds including embrel so I know a bit about the wonders of RA . I have been having problems with pain and limited mobility for sereval months now and had not associated it with RA until I went back home to visit my mom in Minnesota (I have been living in CA for the last 2 years). She said that I might have RA and that I should get checked out by my Dr., but here is the catch. I recently quit my job to take my partner across the country to see her family (she is in a wheelchair and doesn't fly) so I have paperwork to fill out for Cobra insurance. I have been advised to not be tested for RA until I have good insurance that I plan to keep... so what do I do? The Cobra plan will only last so long and I don't see myself being able to go back to work on a full time basis due to my household responsibilities as the main care provider for my partner who deals with CP as well as those of co-owner of our small t-shirt and button business. Plus, the field I have worked in for the past 9+ years is Early Childhood Education. I simply hurt too much to bend down with the kids some days. So working for the insurance doesn't seem to be an option without going back to school for training in another field. I am really at a loss as to what to do. I would love any suggestions including any herbal remedies people have found to work. Also I should state that like my mother I do not have any of the skin disorders that often go along with RA. Yes, I know it is puzzling. Her Dr. doesn't know what is up with that, but she definetly has RA and she certainly thinks I do too. Help! Guest guest
Hi, It's good to think about all of the things that you are. Are you taking an over the counter anti-inflammatory medicine now? (Ibuprofin?) Skin conditions are common with lupus, but not RA. Do take care. Everything will work out o.k.
