Guest guest
I have had both the duragesic and fentanyl patches for pain. I am on the 75's every two days. I use the fentanyl as it is the generic and much cheaper for our co-pay. They are the same only the duragesic is the brand name. Hope this helps. I don't know what I would do without them but sure do hate the cost each month. I also use Lyrica and fiorinal with codeine but that is more for my back and the other for the neuropathy in my feet. Guest guest
I know Daddy and Mama pay close to 500.00 for her Dura gesic patches. Last year for their taxes they had 12,000.00 in just meds alone. Jena ~:~Jena~:~ My Home Page My E-mail Re: fentanyl or Duragesic I have had both the duragesic and fentanyl patches for pain. Guest guest
Hi Lois, I don't know if you are new here or an old timer who is just now posting for the first time since I have been a member. lol Anyway, it's nice to meet you and I love your name, it's my Mother's name too I'm glad the Fentanyl patches help you. I never could get up to the 75's, they drugged me to bad. As a matter of fact, I have 15 of the 50's in my drawer that I'll never use They are so expensive, I hate to throw them away, but I guess I have to at some point. lol I have Neuropathy in my feet as well and take Neurontin for it. It does really help. Have you ever taken Neurontin? Did it work? I also have been put on Cymbalta, double max. dose of 120mg a day. It seems to help the rest of the way with the Neuropathy. I would still have the burning at times without it. Also, I needed that much of an antidepressant. So it killed 2 birds with one stone! I love meds that do that. I take about 38 pills per day not including break through pain meds. I counted them the other day and that's it Plus all my shots for diabetes. They always seem to add pills, but never take any away I don't know anything about Lyrica, but see many on it lately. Does it do the trick for the Neuropathy completely? Are you symptom free now? Have a great day! Hugs, Tommie Re: fentanyl or Duragesic I have had both the duragesic and fentanyl patches for pain. I am on the 75's every two days. Guest guest
I have always folded mine and flushes them when I was changing patches. I would do the same with the ones that you are not going to use. At 07:22 AM 2/7/2007, you wrote: >Are the patches safe to throw away ? i know the meds i don't use I >flush. Guest guest
I have just began using the fentanyl patches and I can not get them to stay on 24 hours let alone 72. I have used 3 different kinds of tape to hold them on and they still end up coming off. I called the customer service line to ask if they have the over patches to keep the fentanyl patches on and they told me no. They said their patches are generic and to keep the cost down they do not provide the over patches. They said I would have to purchase them my self. I asked where to get them and they said at a medical supply store. I have never seen any thing like that in any store I have been in. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can keep them on? Thanks, Beth > > I have had both the duragesic and fentanyl patches for pain. I am on the 75's every two days. I use the fentanyl as it is the generic and much cheaper for our co-pay. Guest guest
Hi Beth Have you tried using the good old bandaid to put across them to hold them one? Sometimes when my nicotine patches don't stick, I use a bandaid. Another way would be to use medical tape. The clear kind. It's like scotch tape. Good Luck Hugs Diane-Minnesota > > > > I have had both the duragesic and fentanyl patches for pain. I am on > the 75's every two days.
