Sounds like a great trip. Just remember, there are bottle size restrictions for

carry on cosmetic items. Here is a good article

http://www.travelgearblog.com/archive/carry-on-luggage-restrictions-rules.html

Also, and probably most importantly, carry 2 to 3 days pain medication with you

or all your prescription bottles in your carry on bag. You must consider two

possiblilties 1) your bags may not arrive with you and 2) someone will help

themselves to your medicine if it is in your luggage. I issue this warning

because I have " lost " both Ultram and Vocodin packed in my luggage before. We

are the ones in pain but out in the world there is a big bunch of abusers who

can't wait to get their hands on our medicine.

Cheers, Dave

My son's fiance bought me a plane ticket to visit them in Washington (state)!

I will leave here April 1st, and return on May 2nd. I am so excited! My

previous trips to Washington have been limited to a week or so, so this is going

to be great to stay a whole month! I just LOVE Washington, and if I had the

money, I would move up there in a split secomd! My kids are laughing because I'm

already making my list of stuff to pack.

The only thing I'm not too thrilled about is the flying. If I had a dependable

vehicle, I would drive. The airlines are so screwy now, that I don't know how

many bags I can take, and what's allowed to carry on, and so-forth. Oh

well.....I'm just so excited I can't stop thinking about it!

I have traveled to Washington per airline. I would suggest carrying a letter

from your dr stating your medical condition and what meds you are prescribed.

Also, I had prescriptions taken out of my suitcase which had been checked. Since

you will be good for extended amount of time the letter will cover you in case

you have to go to the ER. Traveling was very difficult for me. Be prepared for

delays, lost luggage, any unforseen problems in traveling. The chairs were very

uncomfortable for me. Take a light throw or blanket. I do not if you have high

BP problems but atmosphere changes played with mine. Ask your doctor beforehand

how to take care of this. I carried my nitro. Also, a travel pillow is good for

people with neck issues.

My kids are laughing because I'm

already making my list of stuff to pack.

vehicle, I would drive. The airlines are so screwy now, that I don't know how

many bags I can take, and what's allowed to carry on, and so-forth. Oh

Sounds wonderful Sandy, I hope you enjoy yourself... You have enough time

to plan all you need for the trip and I would be doing the same but I usually

did drive where evere I went... Now I dont travel cause its too hard and I

have oxygen the airlines cost a fortune to do that and we dont do long

drives no more... Enjoy your time there...

Love and Peace

Always

Thanks for your advise also. Getting  doctor's letter is a great idea. I do have

high BP, but it's well controlled with the meds I'm on now. Thankfully, I will

have no lay overs. The kids actually thought about my back (and other) problems,

and didn't want me having to rush to a different plane. I don't know about

anyone else, but every single lay over I've had, consisted of going from one end

of the airport to the other! LONG walk!

I wanted to drive up there SOOO bad, but I don't have a car now. I still

haven't given up hope on that yet- in th next couple years, I will definately

get a car that can make the drive. That's about the only thing I have on my

" bucket list " ! LOL!
