I have 1 hour a week. I generally am better on the day after the session

than I am the day before. No massive or miraculous improvements though. Some

people I know feel more positive about it and really don't like to miss a

session. You really have to judge for yourself based on how far you have to

travel, how much it costs and if you do try it (over here you have 15

sessions day after day when you start), what it does or doesn't do for you.

If the chiro is trying to " convince " you then I would be suspicious. I don't

think I would do HBO at that cost and distance unless I was cash and time rich.

I would invest in the best possible supplements and food first if you don't

already.

There are many variations on oxygen therapy such as hydrogen peroxide or

ozone and they work as well as HBOT for possibly a lot less money. For

instance, hydrogen peroxide is pretty cheap and a person can bath in it or

drink it. Here is a testimonial from the leaky gut listserv for hydrogen

peroxide iv's

My LGS is caused by exposure to Stachybotrys (toxic mold) which

resulted in three different immune disorders and Candida in

the 'high' range. Candida is one molecule away from mold, and the

Stachy lodges itself in your intestinal wall just as yeast does. The

traditional methods (Nystatin and diet) did not work for 18 months. I

read about Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation, a common treatment before

antibiotics became so prevalent, consultated with several facilities

that perform this procedure, and then found one in my home town. My

Candida levels went from high to below normal in 9 sessions (I had

hydrogen peroxide I.V.'s at the same time). There are no side

effects. If your LGS is caused by Candida, I highly recommend this

procedure.

Re: Re:HBOT

Thanks. I believe that if you think it works, it works...whether it does

anything or not! The mind is a powerful tool. I tried it and didn't expect

anything from only one session. I got what I thought I would. My

chiropractor is trying to convince me that I will feel better after several

sessions. It's $50/hour at his office and 27 miles from here, one way. I

can't decide if the money could be better spent.
