Guest guest Posted August 5, 2005 Report Share Posted August 5, 2005 Obviously the message is equally important as is its reception just to be picky ;] i always thought a message differed fr a thought in that it implied a 2-way communication. were i to express myself in chinese -wish i cld! - my message wld be for naught most likely on j-f.....yet be valuable as a thought but not efficient as a message. i trust my logic here is not fallacious. here is an example i treasure fr an old copy of the new yorker - Corollaries We Never Got Around to Reading [From “Prolegomenon to a Theory of Religion,†by Gerald Larson, in the Journal of the American Society of Religion] (3.1) The Definition. Within the context of these considerations, let me now proceed to suggest a definition of Religion and to offer as well two corollary definitions. I suggest the following: Religion is a “complete system of human communication†(or a “form of lifeâ€) showing in primarily “commissive,†“behabitive,†and “exercitive†modes how a community comports itself when it encounters an “untranscendable negation of . . . possibilities.†The two related corollary definitions are . . . dear steve, go right ahead. though it is sometimes more than a challenge to comprehend yr meaning, it truly is the thought that counts n the sincerity w/which u write is what i will always cherish. jesus said - feed my sheep n i am surely one of them yr wooly but admiring n loving ao :] my caps not woiking!
