Carol,

You are going through Hell, and that lousy surgeon doesn't seem to even

care. This is outrageous! He does not want to accept responsibility for

his dirty deed. I can't believe his callous attitude! You need help

from someone knowledgeable about infections. I agree that you have

been royally messed with. Can you see some other doctor? Your regular

doctor seems sympathetic, but does he know enough to help you? You may

need to be taking antibiotics at least. I will keep you in my thoughts

and prayers for healing.

Carol, we are here for each other, were a big family. It's so

wonderful to be able to come here, and get such wonderful support and

concern. We all can't post all the time, but we all know were right

here real close.

I pray that you start feeling better, and get some help. This is so

awful, it makes you scared to put your self in a doctor's hands some

times. Please, take care, and keep in touch, T

Carol, please document everything that is happening - symptoms, dates,

phone calls, medications stopped and started, etc.

At this point, I would contact the surgeon again and tell him that you

are not healing and in a lot of pain. Tell him that you are very worried

about the possibility of infection, too.

I would also give your rheumatologist a call directly and explain in

gory detail what is going on.

NO, do not try to put the blame back on yourself and characterize your

reaction as an overreaction. Your pain and lack of healing should be

taken very seriously.

Glad to hear that you are rinsing with Peridex. I hope it helps.

Please keep us posted.

I'll tell you where to go!

Carol, I agree with . Take a tough stand, especially with the surgeon,

phone and tell him he WILL see you and do something about this mess he has left

you in or you will just show up at his office full of patients. This is a

serious matter and you must be looked after.

And please, if this doctor refuses to take care of his mess, file a complaint

against him at your state board of medicine or professional regulation so others

can see what he does.

Carol, It does sound like you got the royal brush off. I can feel

for you. I have seent his happen to others and it has happened to

me as well. Don't give up. Go see your regular doc and see what he

thinks about you going to see a ENT surgeon or even a plastic

surgeon. They can work with you and an Infectious Diseases

specialist to get you better. Take care, I'll keep you in my

prayers, Marina in Ohio
