Hello Ginger, and hello again y.

I had a lot of coughing for the first 7-8 years, but in the last 9 or so

years have had little or no cough at all.

So there is no hard fast rule to any of this, we are all individual.

however there are some things that most of us have or have had, and that is

reflux( Gerd).

And we also know that anykind of inhalers, after, you need to( rinse mouth

out, gargle and spit).

Hoarseness does occur in some, and after many years we do develop a slightly

deeper voice tone.

That too comes from incorrect breathing.

Once you learn a breathing technique that suits you, and you learn to do it

till its second nature, you will find that some parts of you health will be

better manages, as you do when you practice PD etc.

I still do and did Pd whether or not have muccous, as it does help you keep

muck from settling, even muck you don,t even feel you have.

Its like learning to use a computer, etc, keep learning new things, and

finding alternatives and things that work quicker and better etc.

Many of us have had bronch for most of our lives and have learnt so many

things over those years, and managed our illnesses well, but are still

learning more, if not each day, something new weekly really.

As we each learn from each other too.

These groups are just a wondwerful way to both learn, share and even teach

some of the medics.

So keep posting and , don,t ever think its fruitless and just always going

to be down hill, cos I promise you its not.

Sure there are many out there who would share same view.

learning to know all there is about yourself, your illness and your body

etc, is the first point.

Eating things like yoghurt etc, helps with reflux, and not eating heavy meal

before bed etc, sleeping up on a couple of pillows etc.

must go, will keep reading posts, but haven,t been too good either, with

asthma and pain.

bye for now.

Sandy

Lee, I’m glad you asked that

question because I’ve been wondering the same thing. I hope someone can

give us some tips on PD too. I have visions of hanging from the ceiling like a

bat with someone beating on my back.

Hello,

I've been following the emails and have

answered a couple. Now I have

a concern. What

is/are the best ways to do postural drainage? PD?

Sandy, thanks for the info and encouragement. It is so great to have the

support of fellow bronch victims like you. This group is a very valuable

resource. I do have a question about sinus drainage. It seems mine

drains constantly, which is nothing new. I've had sinus problems all my

life. I've been tested for allergies and don't have any, but I'm

sensitive to environmental irritants like smoke and gas fumes. I'm

scheduled for an acid reflux test on 2/27 to confirm the cause of my

bronch. I've been told that the reflux can cause sinus problems too,

which makes perfect sense. Do you have the post-nasal drip and if so,

did it improve after you started taking the reflux meds?

i guess it's a common question. i also wanted to ask about the postural drainage. i was only taught active cycle breathing. it works ok, but i can always tell there is stuff i didn't get. there is not lying or leaning or anything involved in it. but when i asked about PD, i was told there was no need. by the way, i had my right middle lobe removed 5 weeks ago and i'm doing great. i start work again on monday. i'm so excited! claudia

  • 2 weeks later...

I also have problems with sinus. I had sinus surgery last summer and it didn't help. I run threw a quart of water a day with the sinus rinse. It does help to get rid of some of the junk. I am not really sure where I am headed with this cause I am on medicine most of the time for it. I do have the acid reflux. I take two pills a day to help on it. Hope you get help soon.
