Guest guest
My tsc was a bit unique in that scar tissue wasn't holding the cord, but a ligament, they didn't notice it a million years ago when they repaired my spina bifida. I could only sleep on my sides...my legs would give out at any time for no reason...I had nerve problems in my legs which made it impossible to sleep at all there at the end, I jerked and twitched all day and night. I have some spasms in my back muscles/butt since the surgery but am told that these will subside and if they do I am going to feel great! mistress07 wrote: Thank you for your response and I hope you contine to feel well. What was your pain like and could you only sleep on your sides? Thanks!em --------------------------------- Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Barbara....Be sure to decide that you will do fine..I really think it helps...remember that those who did wonderfully well with surgery with no further issues whatsoever are not those of us on the site! Just press that little button on the PCA (pateint controlled anesthesia) and sleep through the first three days as my daughter did! She doesn't even remember most of the hosptialization Randee
Guest guest
Barbara.. I pray that this will be it for you...and that all of us will either be done with our medical adventures or find peace in attempting to live with whatever follows! Best...randee

I was due to be in the hospital for 4-5 days and was there for 3 weeks. I am still out of work (8 months post op) but am still hoping to get back as soon as possible!! I dont want to be a " debbie downer " (SNL) but my surgery was supposed to take 4 hrs, took 8, hospital one week, actually in 2 hospitals for 40 days, I am still off work - 8.5 years ! I will never do the work I did for 19 years (warehouse work) so I am considered 100% disabled, BUT, I graduate in May 2007 with a BS in Computer Information Systems - thank you vocational rehabilitation :-) I suppose I will have to find a job :-( R
